LUGAIT, MISAMIS ORIENTAL โ€” September 11, 2025. A total of 300 beneficiaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD-10) Project LAWA at BINHI in the Municipality of Lugait received 2,000 tilapia fingerlings and 13 bags of organic and inorganic fertilizers.

The farm inputs were provided by the Mindanao State University (MSU), Naawan, and the Provincial Agriculture Office in support of the programโ€™s community-based livelihood interventions. This partnership highlights the convergence of national and local institutions to help strengthen resilience and livelihood opportunities in water-scarce areas.

Implemented under the Risk Resiliency Program (RRP), Project LAWA at BINHI aims to improve food security, promote sustainable livelihoods, and build resilience among vulnerable communities affected by climate change and water scarcity.

This initiative also aligns with the directives of DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, ensuring that communities have access to vital resources that enhance agricultural productivity and support long-term resilience.
