Through the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office X (DSWD-10) released a total of ₱40,210,000.00 in livelihood grants to 1,857 program participants across Northern Mindanao through payout and check turnover activities conducted in June 2026.

Covering both individual program participants and members of Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs), the assistance aims to support livelihood activities that help families start, sustain, or expand income-generating projects in their communities.

By province, Misamis Oriental received ₱12,000,000.00 in grants for 362 participants, followed by Bukidnon with ₱12,420,000.00 for 489 participants. Lanao del Norte received ₱11,495,000.00 for 722 participants, while Misamis Occidental received ₱4,295,000.00 for 284 participants.

DSWD-10 Regional Program Coordinator Rhandy L. Ladoroz said the grant release reflects the Department’s continuing commitment to help vulnerable families build more stable and sustainable sources of income.

“Labaw pa sa pinansyal nga tabang, kini nga mga grants nagrepresentar sa oportunidad alang sa atong mga program participants nga makabarog pag-usab, mapalig-on ang ilang panginabuhian, ug masustenir ang ilang mga proyekto. Nanghinaut kami nga pinaagi sa Sustainable Livelihood Program, magamit sa husto sa mga pamilya ug komunidad kini nga ayuda aron makab-ot ang mas lig-on ug mas malungtarong panginabuhian,”

Ladoroz said.

(More than financial assistance, these grants represent opportunities for our program participants to recover, strengthen their livelihood, and sustain their projects. We hope that through the Sustainable Livelihood Program, families and communities will be able to use this assistance properly toward more stable and sustainable sources of income.)

Out of the total amount released, ₱12,915,000.00 was allocated for 827 individual program participants, while ₱27,295,000.00 was provided to 1,030 SLPA members. Field implementers of DSWD-10 SLP facilitated the release through cash payout and check turnover activities in coordination with concerned local government units and stakeholders.

Intended for microenterprise development and other approved livelihood projects, the grants seek to help vulnerable and marginalized households improve their economic condition through sustainable sources of income.

Before receiving the assistance, program participants underwent the required social preparation and capacity-building activities, including financial education sessions, to guide them in the proper management and utilization of the grants.

DSWD-10 also emphasized that the assistance must be used according to the approved livelihood proposals of the participants and associations. Monitoring and technical assistance will continue to support the proper implementation and sustainability of the livelihood projects.

Through SLP, DSWD-10 continues to strengthen its support for families and community-based enterprises in Northern Mindanao, providing opportunities for economic recovery, productivity, and long-term livelihood growth. ###
