The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 10, through its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), officially opened the 2026 Regional Alunsina: Kabuhayan Convention and Bazaar on March 9 at the regional office in Cagayan de Oro City, featuring products made by SLP participants from across Northern Mindanao.

The two-day event, which runs until March 10, gathers provincial staff and field workers who brought and displayed locally produced goods from various communities in the region, creating a platform to promote and expand the market reach of SLP-supported enterprises.

Present during the opening ceremony were DSWD-10 Regional Director Glofelia J. Uayan, Assistant Secretary for Promotive Programs Edmon Montiverde, SLP National Program Manager Director Marife C. Leon, and Assistant Regional Director for Administration Salmah M. Basher, along with staff from the Regional Program Management Office-SLP, provincial coordinators, and field workers.

Although the SLP participants were not physically present during the event, their products were represented by provincial teams who facilitated the transport, display, promotion, and selling of goods from their respective areas.

In her message, Director Uayan emphasized that Alunsina goes beyond a typical bazaar, describing it as a venue where the achievements of the Sustainable Livelihood Program become visible through community enterprises, products, and economic opportunities.

The activity also highlights the continuing efforts of DSWD Field Office 10 to support community-based livelihoods and strengthen local enterprise development across Northern Mindanao.
