The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 10 wrapped up the 2026 Regional Alunsina: Kabuhayan Convention and Bazaar, which runs on March 9-10 at its regional office in Cagayan de Oro City. The event featured products and community businesses from SLP participants across Northern Mindanao and reached total sales of ₱197,931.00 over two days.
The event gave provincial staff and field workers a chance to showcase and sell locally made goods for SLP participants. This helped community businesses reach more customers and made local products more visible in the region. According to the sales report, Misamis Occidental had the highest sales at ₱52,885.00, followed by Misamis Oriental 1 at ₱51,216.00 and Lanao del Norte 2 at ₱21,755.00.

In her message, Assistant Regional Director for Administration Salmah M. Basher thanked everyone who helped make the event a success, including Regional Director Glofelia J. Uayan, Assistant Secretary for Promotive Programs Edmon B. Monteverde, SLP National Program Manager Director Marife C. Leon, the SLP provincial clusters, field staff, RPMO Technical Staff, buyers, and guests. In her speech, Basher highlighted the deeper meaning of the event, saying, “Alunsina reminds us that livelihood is not only about selling. It is about confidence, opportunity, and dignity.” She also said that every purchase, inquiry, and connection during the bazaar helped expand the reach of the participants’ products and brought them closer to stable income and better lives for their families.

The closing program also honored provincial teams for their achievements during the bazaar. Misamis Occidental received the Top Sales Award for strong sales and customer engagement. Lanao del Norte Cluster 2 won the Product Innovation Excellence Award for creativity and dedication to new product ideas, and also received the Sales Efficiency Award for earning the highest income per unit of inventory. Misamis Oriental Cluster 1 was given the Best Booth Product Display Award for its creative and excellent product displays.
As the 2026 Regional Alunsina: Kabuhayan Convention and Bazaar ended, the event showed DSWD-10’s ongoing commitment to supporting local livelihoods, strengthening community businesses, and building partnerships that help communities grow.
