The Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office X has released ₱5,130,000.00 grants to residents in Gitagum, Manticao, and Lugait to support local livelihoods.

SLP released livelihood grants to fund association and individual projects in Misamis Oriental Cluster 2, advancing DSWD’s drive for inclusive growth and resilient communities.

Key local officials from Misamis Oriental, including Mayor Stephen S. Tan of Manticao, Mayor Wellie G. Lim of Lugait, Vice Mayor Roberto M. Lagrosas of Manticao, and Vice Mayor Rudy O. Damasing of Gitagum, witnessed the turnover ceremony.

DSWD Assistant Secretary Edmon B. Monteverde, representing Secretary Rex Gatchalian, led the distribution, accompanied by Regional Director Ramel F. Jamen, OIC–Promotive Services Chief Armelita M. Paye, and SLP Coordinator Rhandy L. Ladoroz.

A total of eight SLP Associations (SLPAs), comprising 315 members, and another 190 individual beneficiaries, received assistance, enabling them to start or expand projects that can increase family incomes and improve livelihoods in their communities.

Earlier, the SLPAs submitted their proposals for SLP funding, amounting to ₱5.13 million. The amount is another released grant for Misamis Oriental beneficiaries this year.

Previously, SLP released ₱15.92 million for projects in these municipalities, benefiting 1,062 participants.

With this latest grant, SLP investment in Misamis Oriental Cluster 2 totals ₱21.05 million, supporting a total of 1,377 participants.

This endeavor underscores the DSWD’s dedication to empowering communities through sustainable and inclusive livelihood opportunities.

“These investments go beyond financial aid, advancing self-reliance and growth. Each project delivered brings us closer to poverty reduction and sustainable progress,” Jamen stated.

“To our SLP participants, manage your projects with integrity and purpose. This assistance is a chance to uplift your family and your community,” Director Jamen said.

SLP remains one of DSWD’s flagship promotive interventions, designed to strengthen the socio-economic well-being of Filipino families by providing access to livelihood assets, technical support, and enterprise development.
