Cagayan de Oro City – The Regional Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (RJJWC) was recently organized with the facilitation of the Department of Social Welfare and Development held here September 3, 2014.
The said organization also conducted its first meeting that includes an orientation on the features of Republic Act 10630, an act strengthening the Juvenile Justice System of the Philippines amending Republic Act 9344, otherwise known as the “Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006.” The said meeting also introduced the functions of RJJWC which was discussed by the Cagayan de Oro Public Attorney Office (PAO).
The gathering ended with the formulation of 2014 Regional Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council Plan of Action by all Members. The Regional Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (RJJWC) is composed of the DSWD, which serves as the Chair, and the departments of justice, education, interior and local governance, health, Commission on Human Rights, League of Cities and Municipalities, children and youth sector, and non-government organizations.
