Cagayan de Oro City — After receiving issues on the delayed release of cash grants for the beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) is set to pay beneficiaries this November.
In its advisory send to the Finance Unit of Pantawid Pamilya of DSWD Field Office 10 today, LBP said it will pay the long overdue cash grants of beneficiaries under Period 1 which covers January to February 2015 compliance of the grantees.
The delay for Period 1 payment was reportedly due to the bidding processes of LBP in looking for its over-the-counter payments service provider.
MASSPEC is the service provider of LBP for the payout.
Meanwhile, LBP has yet to pay the beneficiaries in 16 localities in Northern Mindanao for its compliance to the conditionalities within June and July this year.
LBP postponed anew the payment of the 16 affected localities reportedly due to some internal factors that need immediate resolutions between LBP and LBC Express. The bank had earlier scheduled the pay-out to beneficiaries under offsite payment, but, postponed it later.
LBP is the only authorized entity to disburse cash grants for Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries.
DSWD Field Office 10 Regional Director, Atty. Araceli F. Solamillo said that the Department acknowledges the concern of the beneficiaries not receiving their grants considering that it should augment their family expenses.
The DSWD has been lobbying with LBP to fast track the pay-out of unpaid cash grants.
