Cagayan de Oro City — Children from around Northern Mindanao assembled here to kick-off the Children’s Month Celebration through “Zumbata,” a joint word for “zumba” and “bata,” which allows children to celebrate the event through dancing.

Children’s Month falls every October of every year.

Coming from various provinces, the children participate in the annual event as their support and advocacy to protect children from any forms of abuse and neglect.

The event was hosted by the Department of Social Welfare and Development, in partnership with local government units and non-government organizations.
