In order to enable concerned partner Agencies to share their ideas  and ideas relative to the Senior Citizens Action Plan , the Regional Inter Agency Committee recently conducted  a workshop for the Philippine Plan of Action for Senior Citizens  .

The Philippine Plan of Actiuon for Senior Citizens (PPASC) was formulated through the Department of Social Welfare and Development  and Inter-Agency efforts, including inputs and participation of the members  from the Regional inter- Agency committee. It serves as the blueprint for all government offices (national and regional), non-government organizations and local government units in undertaking activities to promote and safeguard the welfare of  Senior Citizens.

Participants  of the workshop  included staff  from the Regional Office and at least  fourteen   representatives from  the  Regional Inter-Agency Committee  (TIAC)  .

The two-day activity included  lectures  focused on reviewing the existing documents on the accomplishments of each inter-agency partner  .

The outputs of the workshop conducted will serve as inputs in planning the activities for the drafting and formulation for the Philippine Plan of Action  2017-2021.

In his welcome message,  Assistant Regional Director for Administration  Manuel Borres, hoped that the assessment workshop  will yield  positive results  for the advancement of the Senior Citizens which is one of the vulnerable  sectors served by the Department and its partner Agencies  .
