The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the City Government of Iligan, and the National Housing Authority (NHA) have strengthened their partnership to continue supporting Typhoon Sendong survivors through the Core Shelter Assistance Program (CSAP).This collaboration aims to provide safe and disaster-resilient housing for affected families, enabling their long-term recovery and stability.
The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), signed on January 28, 2025, at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall, Iligan City, ensures the continuation of core shelter construction through the CSAP funds of DSWD. The City Government of Iligan will contribute by providing labor and site development, while the NHA has allocated a 5.7-hectare lot in Barangay Upper Hinaplanon, Iligan City, to accommodate the construction of 362 core shelter units for the survivors.
This partnership highlights the collective efforts of the DSWD, Iligan City, and the NHA in providing a strong foundation for the ongoing disaster recovery and long-term stability of Typhoon Sendong survivors.
With construction already underway, the project represents a crucial step in rebuilding communities, offering families a fresh start, and fostering renewed hope and resilience in the region.
