The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region X, through its Risk Resiliency Program (RRP), officially launched the 2025 implementation of Project LAWA at BINHI—Local Adaptation to Water Access (LAWA) and Breaking Insufficiency Through Nutritious Harvest for the Improvised (BINHI)—with an initial coordination meeting conducted in the three partner provinces.
The meeting, led by RRP PLaB technical staff, focused on key areas to ensure the program’s success:
• Social Preparation for efficient and proper project implementation,
• Food-for-Work Activities, a two-day initiative recognizing beneficiaries who sustained previous implementation sites, and
• Strategic Planning to enhance project techniques and outcomes.
This year’s beneficiary targets include 1,500 individuals in Misamis Oriental, 1,300 individuals in Lanao del Norte, and 1,800 individuals in Bukidnon, for a total of 4,600 beneficiaries across 17 Local Government Units (LGUs).
The meeting signals the start of strengthened collaboration and commitment among partner provinces to uplift vulnerable communities through water access and sustainable food security initiatives. By addressing critical needs, Project LAWA at BINHI continues to empower local communities and build resilience against risks.
