Cagayan de Oro — The Department of Social Welfare and Development here recently conducted an orientation cum training for Area Supervisors and Enumerators who will be assigned during the validation phase of the Second Round Assessment.
One hundred eight enumerators and 530 Area Supervisors were rehired and oriented for the one month validation period scheduled within the month of October.
Local Verification Committees composed of the local chief executives, local social welfare and development officers, planning officers, and representatives from civil society organizations will also be oriented on their roles during the validation.
Initial lists of poor households based on the conducted assessment will be posted in strategic locations in the barangays for the people in the communities to provide feedback.
It is also in this phase when families who were not yet visited by the enumerators will be given the chance to appeal, be assessed and lodged on their complaints and grievances to the Local Verification Committee (LVC).
The public is encouraged to participate during the validation process to ensure that the database for poor households in the region will be accurate, correct, and viable.
Listahanan is a targeting system of the DSWD that identifies who and where the poor are in the country. It serves as the basis for potential beneficiaries of various social protection programs of the Department and partner agencies.
