The Field Offices of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has combined its resources to help provide assistance to the residents of the two cities in Northern Mindanao placed under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
As of August 5, 2021, the Visayas Disaster Resource Center (VDRC), run by the National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau (NRLMB), augmented another 5,000 FFPs which were directly delivered to Cagayan de Oro City. The DSWD Field Office X together with the other field offices and national counterparts already augmented a total number of 15,000 FFPs since its first augmentation on July 23, 2021.
Moreover, an additional of 15,000 family food packs is expected to be delivered on August 7-8, 2021 from the National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau (10,000) and Visayas Disaster Resource Center (5,000) for its augmentation to Cagayan de Oro City. Also, the Local Government Unit of Gingoog City has already received a total of 44,344 family food packs since its first augmentation.
On August 3, 2021, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office X also signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the two local government units placed under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) for the implementation of the special ayuda.
The MOA will harmonize and fast-track the distribution of the relief assistance to the residents of Cagayan de Oro City and Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental.
Based on the Joint Memorandum Circular 2 series of 2021, the national government will give financial assistance of P1,000 per individual, with a maximum of P4,000 per family, to residents affected by the ECQ in Northern Mindanao.
The DSWD Field Office X continuously maintains close coordination with its national counterparts, other field offices and with the affected LGUs to ensure immediate response and provision of needed assistance to the affected families in ECQ areas.
