The Department of Social Welfare and Development through the Listahanan which previously was known as NHTS-PR (National Household targeting System for Poverty Reduction) recently conducted an orientation for Area Supervisors who were rehired for the Validation Phase of the Second Round Assessment.
The Listahanan first round assessment was conducted in 2009. The final list of poor households will serve as the basis in identifying potential beneficiaries of various social protection programs and services of National Government Agencies and other stakeholders who have engaged with DSWD through a Memorandum of Agreement.
Posting of the initial list of poor and non poor households as generated from the assessments conducted in the region will be done during the validation which is scheduled within the month of October this year.
With the support of the organized Local Verification Committees in the municipalities and cities, complaints and grievances will be addressed specially those pertaining to inclusion and exclusion errors. Households who were not assessed will be visited and assessed by assigned enumerators during the validation.
Inclusion errors pertains to those non poor households who were included in the list while exclusion errors stand for those poor households who were not included in the list.
The trained Area Supervisors will act as Secretariat for the LVC (Local Verification Committee) during the validation.
The public is encouraged to participate and coordinate with the Area Supervisors and the Local verification Committees assigned in their respective localities for their complaints and grievances.
