About 486 alumni and students from the University of Science and Technology of the Philippines (USTP) and Bukidnon State University (BukSU) have received their initial salaries under the Cash-for-Work Program (CFWP) of the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan–Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS).
From July 15 to 18, 2025, CFWP beneficiaries received payouts covering up to one month’s worth of wages. Alumni workers earn Php 461 per day for an eight-hour shift, while college students receive Php 230.50 for four hours of work.
“I’m truly grateful for the opportunity. It gave me hands-on experience, exposed me to real-world work, and inspired me to continue working with DSWD,” said Shahani Mae Borres, who is currently assigned to the DSWD Field Office X’s Social Marketing Unit.
CFWP participants are deployed in government offices or universities where they graduated, gaining practical experience and exposure to various work settings.
Under the program, college graduates may work for a maximum of 50 days, while college students are engaged for up to 25 days.
DSWD Field Office X disbursed Php 4.8 million during the recent payout, with remaining disbursements scheduled in the coming months.
