The Listahanan Second Round Assessment is close to its final phase. With a total of 781,700 households assessed in Northern Mindanao or 98.5 % accomplished vis-a-vis the target of 793,989 households assessed, initial steps for validation are now underway.
During validation, posting of the initial list of poor families in the barangays will be conducted for the communities to provide feedback on the list . A Local Verification Committee (LVC) will be formed in each municipality/City who then will act on the complaints and grievances. Furthermore, it is at this phase wherein families who were not visited during the regular enumeration will be given the chance to appeal and be assessed.
“The validation phase is considered one of the most important and essential activities of the assessment since the result of the validation forms a big part in generating the list of poor households in the region” , says Regional Director Atty.Araceli Solamillo .
