Northern Mindanao- The Department of Social Welfare and Development through the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction or Listahanan have started posting initial lists of poor households in the five provinces of the region.
This is relative to the validation phase of the Second Round Assessment wherein Initial lists of poor households, based on the conducted assessment, will be posted in strategic locations in the barangays for the people in the communities to provide feedback . It is also in this phase when families who were not yet visited by the enumerators will be given the chance to appeal , be assessed and lodge on their complaints and grievances to the Local Verification Committee (LVC).
Local Verification Committees composed of the Local Chief Executives, MSWDOs/CSWDOs , Planning Officers , and representatives from Civil Society Organizations have already been organized and oriented as to their responsibility in resolving all complaints and appeals. .
Initial lists of poor households based on the conducted assessment have been posted in strategic locations in the barangays, for the people in the communities to provide feedback .
The public is encouraged to participate during the validation process to ensure that the database for poor households in the region will be accurate ,correct,and viable.
The Listahanan data will serve as the basis for potential beneficiaries of various social protection programs of the Department and partner Agencies .
One hundred eight Area Supervisors and 540 enumerators were deployed for the validation all throughout the region.
Advocacy efforts through radio and TV guestings, public service announcements have been continuously done to inform and encourage the general public to take part and be involved in the validation.
Posting of the initial list of poor households will be for five days afterwhich, receiving and resolution of complaints will follow.
