Cagayan de Oro City — Mr. Larry Tayros, a 4Ps beneficiary and a program participant to the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of DSWD was one of the 41 beneficiaries who graduated Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II last March 26, 2015 at Villanueva, Misamis Oriental.
The success of the program was made possible through the collective efforts of the Project Development Officers in the field and the regional office, in partnership with 1 and All Technical School. These participants are now equipped with the necessary skills and a wider opportunities to either be employed or establish their own businesses.
The Technical Vocational Skills Training Program (Tech Voc) is one of the approaches of the SLP in upholding to its mission to improve socio-economic well-being of every PantawidPamilya beneficiaries.
The Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) is a multi-stakeholder program of the DSWD that aims to improve the standard of living of poor households. The program facilitate opportunities for the development and management of resource-based, culturally sensitive, market driven and economically viable micro-enterprises; employment facilitation; community empowerment through skills enhancement trainings; link program participants to micro-insurance providers and promote comprehensive family-based approach and community participation.
