The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office X under the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council serves as the Vice-Chairperson for Disaster Response. The office leads sectors relative to Food and Non-Food Items (FNI), Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM), and Internally Displaced Persons Protection (IDPP). The agency is mandated to lead the disaster response operations and to help the Local Government Units (LGUs) respond to the needs of the affected population during disaster or calamity.
The Disaster Response Management Division is in charge of planning, coordinating, and monitoring all response or action efforts during a disaster.
This includes the distribution of additional support to LGUs during disasters through various relief, rehabilitation, and recovery services under RA 10121 or the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010.
