Cabanglasan, Bukidnon โ€“ The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 10 (DSWD-10), in collaboration with the Philippine Armyโ€™s 4th Infantry Division (4th ID) and the local government of Cabanglasan, launched the Tamang Tulong sa Tamang Impormasyon (3TI) information and service caravan in geographically isolated and conflict-affected Indigenous Peoples (IP) barangays of Cananga-an and Iba.

Over 300 individuals, primarily from the Umayamnons communityโ€”including 91 identified former rebelsโ€”received assistance through DSWDโ€™s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program. Additionally, 60 children received school supplies and participated in a storytelling session led by Tara Basa Program workers at a local chapel.

DSWD-10 Regional Director Ramel F. Jamen urged residents to rely on official channels for information, saying, โ€œWe want to ensure our messages reach the communities clearly and truthfully. Our presence here is a testament to our commitment to serve even in the most remote areas.โ€

To enhance community awareness, DSWDโ€™s Social Marketing Unit provided orientations on the agencyโ€™s programs and services, while the Municipal Action Team distributed brochures.

The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, led by Jonalin Baclawon, served meals and snacks to over 400 attendees.

Due to the areaโ€™s limited mobile connectivityโ€”where only one network operates and just four attendees owned mobile phonesโ€”residents aired their preference for more face-to-face information caravans to effectively disseminate vital information.

Cabanglasan Mayor Lolita N. Bullecer expressed appreciation for the active involvement of IP residents and barangay officials, stating, โ€œYour presence reflects your commitment to working with the government to build stronger, safer communities.โ€

Major General Michele B. Anayron Jr., 4th ID Commander, underscored the militaryโ€™s role in identifying former rebels for inclusion in DSWDโ€™s case management system under the Peace and Developmentโ€“Buong Bansa Mapayapa (PD-BBM) framework.

โ€œOur troopers serve not only in securing the area but also in linking communities with government programs. These initiatives are crucial in achieving sustainable peace and inclusive development,โ€ Anayron emphasized.

In Region 10, DSWD targets remote and disadvantaged areas under the Convergence Areas for Peace and Development (CAPDEV) identified by the Regional Development Council X. The 3TI caravan is part of DSWDโ€™s proactive campaign against misinformation, ensuring communities receive clear, verified, and transparent updates directly from official sources.
