FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ON THE FOOD AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE OF THE DSWD

WHAT IS THE FOOD AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE OF DSWD?

The DSWD is giving P1,000.00 as food assistance to an internally displaced family to provide for their immediate needs for the observance of Ramadan for Muslim families and for immediate needs of Non-Muslim families. The financial assistance of P4,000.00 is for their return to their communities once it is safe for them to do so.

WHO IS QUALIFIED TO AVAIL WITH THE P5,000 FOOD AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE?

Only those that have registered their names with their barangay officials and validated by the DSWD / CSWDO / MSWDO as truly affected evacuees are qualified for the food and financial assistance – including those that are staying in evacuation centers and are home-based (those staying in the communities outside evacuation centers.

WHEN WAS THE FOOD ASSISTANCE PAID OUT?

Last June 20-29, 2017, DSWD paid out P1,000.00 to those validated evacuees staying in evacuation centers and are those who are home-based, based on the list of validated evacuees recorded on June 14, 2017 data. The amount was paid out in celebration to Eid Al-Fitr, and culmination of Ramadan.

I ALREADY RECEIVED THE P1,000 FOOD ASSISTANCE FROM DSWD LAST JUNE 20-29, 2017. WHEN AND WHERE CAN I CLAIM THE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE OF P4,000?

For those who were able to receive the P1,000.00 last June 20-29, 2017, they will be able to claim the financial assistance of P4,000.00 when they return home in Marawi City. The schedule of payout will be announced by DSWD-ARMM.

I WASN’T ABLE TO CLAIM MY P1,000 FROM DSWD LAST JUNE 20-29, 2017. WHEN AND WHERE CAN I CLAIM MY FOOD ASSISTANCE?

You purok leader will be submit all registered names to their barangay captain who is responsible in endorsing your names to the DSWD for validation through an interview.

IF I AM NOT ABLE TO REGISTER ON OR BEFORE JULY 5, 2017, WILL I STILL BE ABLE TO CLAIM FOOD AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM DSWD?

You will no longer receive food and financial assistance from DSWD if you fail to register on or before July 5, 2017. Only those who are able to register on or before July 5, 2017 will be the ones who will be validated by DSWD.

WHAT DOES A DSWD / CSWDO / MSWDO VALIDATION MEAN?

A validation is a process done by DSWD / CSWDO / MSWDO through an interview with the evacuee to verify that they are indeed real evacuees from Marawi City. This is done so that real evacuees will really receive the assistance from DSWD, and not to those who are taking advantage of the crisis situation.

IS IT GUARANTEED THAT AFTER I AM INTERVIEWED BY DSWD, I WILL BE ABLE TO RECEIVE THE FOOD ASSISTANCE?

If you have been validated and verified that you are a real evacuee from Marawi, you are qualified to receive the food assistance and other financial assistance from the DSWD. You will be given a Disaster Assistance Family Access Card by the DSWD, which means that you are entitled to receive relief goods and financial assistance from the Agency.

I WAS ABLE TO REGISTER BUT I STILL HAVEN’T BEEN INTERVIEWED BY THE DSWD / CSWDO / MSWDO. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

You may approach your purok leader or barangay captain and follow up the status of your registration. The barangay captain or barangay officials will be the ones to coordinate with the CSWDO / MSWDO regarding the need to validate and interview you.

The barangay officials are the ones who are coordinating with the CSWDO / MSWDO on the schedule of distribution of relief goods in your area. The CSWDO / MSWDO are the ones who request for additional relief goods with DSWD.

CAN I CLAIM MY RELIEF GOODS OR FOOD ASSISTANCE FROM A DSWD OFFICE?

No. No distribution is being conducted in any DSWD offices. Distribution of relief goods are done in evacuation centers and in barangay halls. The schedule of distribution of relief goods depends upon the request of the CSWDO / MSWDO to DSWD.
