Amidst the cacophony of daily struggles, the Igbo and Yoruba Proverb echoes a profound truth: “It takes a village to raise a child.”

This saying resonates deeply, especially during the inaugural celebration of Solo Parent’s Week, where tales of resilience and unwavering love take center stage.

Meet Joy Lim-Suzon, a beacon of strength in the face of adversity.

“I want to make her understand that she is essential and more than enough despite the absence of a father figure in her life,” Joy said.

Yet, within these challenges lie seeds of resilience nurtured by the unwavering support of her daughter, family, and friends.

“I can overcome and transcend these challenges through the boundless love and belief bestowed upon me by my daughter and my support system,” Joy explains.

“They remind me daily that I am enough and more than capable of guiding my daughter towards becoming a kindhearted, compassionate, and God-fearing woman.”
