4Ps workers talk with child laborers of Barangay 19, Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental, and Kibungkog, San Fernando, Bukidnon to benchmark the child labor situation in Northern Mindanao and to find out possible resolutions.

4Ps workers personally talk with the dropouts who became child laborers.

The workers found that most 4Ps dropouts would engage in child labor. Most of them work in agriculture, mining, and as domestic helpers.

With this, the Regional Gender and Development Officer, Modified Conditional Cash Transfer focal person, and representatives of national government agencies link the needs of the child laborers to partner stakeholders for the immediate resolution and bringing them back to school.

The 4Ps Regional Project Management Office meets the child laborers who were 4Ps beneficiaries in a focus group discussion like this in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental. The FGD for child laborers is one of the various activities of the gender and development of the 4Ps Division.

The inter-agency stakeholders resolve the needs of child laborers like financial assistance, and livelihood assistance, among others.
