Cagayan de Oro City, April 17, 2024—Eight (8) elderly residents of St. Joseph’s Golden Home Foundation, Inc. receive 5,000 pesos each in aid by the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office X in partnership with the National Commission on Senior Citizens (NCSC). The cash aid falls under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation Program of DSWD and is intended to support the medical needs and other basic necessities of the elderly beneficiaries.
Present in distributing the aid were NCSC Commissioner Edwin G. Espejo, DSWD-10 Crisis Intervention Section Head, Mr. Mark Anthony Viernes, and NCSC Project Development Officer Rosanna Akut.
In addition to this vital support, the NCSC, through Commissioner Edwin G. Espejo, also awards a Plaque of Recognition to St. Joseph’s Golden Home Foundation, Inc., in recognition of their exemplary commitment and tireless efforts to provide loving care to senior citizens.
In her message, Sr. Gliceria E. Quising, MCM, the Officer-in-Charge of St. Joseph Golden Home, extended her utmost gratitude to DSWD and NCSC for faithfully fulfilling the government’s mandate of extending support to those in need. She emphasized that the assistance provided to the Lolos and Lolas goes beyond material aid; they also feel loved.
