The Bangsamoro Umpungan sa Nutrisyon (BangUN) Project 2024 officially commences with the launch of a 180-day feeding program, following the successful completion of the social preparatory phase in the municipalities of Madamba and Bacolod-Kalawi, Lanao del Sur.

These municipalities have been identified as target areas due to their alarming rates of malnutrition.

Assistant Secretary for Innovations Baldr H. Bringas led the activities, joined by Protective Services Division Chief Zosimo G. Butil, along with officials and staff from both local government units (LGUs) and the Department.

In his message, Asec. Bringas expressed gratitude to the LGUs of Madamba and Bacolod-Kalawi for their compassion and cooperation, which he said inspire the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in its mission to address the nutritional needs of the youth for adequate and proper nutrition.

A partnership plaque was presented, symbolizing the tireless dedication and cooperation between various stakeholders.

Nutritional meals were also distributed during the Ceremonial Community Feeding in the two municipalities.

BangUN is a project dedicated to addressing the high incidence of hunger and malnutrition among children in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
