The Department of Social Welfare and Development โ€“ Sustainable Livelihood Program (DSWD-SLP) has provided livelihood grants to 5,300 individuals and 113 Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs), boosting microenterprise development in Region X.  Distributed from June 16 to 27, 2025, the grants totaled โ‚ฑ64,080,000 in cash and โ‚ฑ27,285,000 in checks, with a total disbursement of โ‚ฑ91,365,000. These funds support the development of small businesses and entrepreneurs in the region. This initiative aims to empower individuals and associations to establish and grow their own enterprises.

Between June 16 and 20, 2025, fund distribution in Misamis Oriental and Lanao Del Norte reached a total of โ‚ฑ48,910,000, benefiting 3,254 individuals. Subsequently, from June 23 to 27, 2024, Misamis Oriental released cash amounting to โ‚ฑ14,005,000 to 958 beneficiaries; Misamis Occidental disbursed โ‚ฑ190,000 to 12 beneficiaries; and Lanao Del Norte allocated โ‚ฑ15,400,000 to 1,076 beneficiaries. In addition, the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) issued cheques totaling โ‚ฑ27,285,000 across various regions, including Misamis Oriental with โ‚ฑ4,560,000 supporting 18 SLPAs, Bukidnon with โ‚ฑ20,625,000 for 88 SLPAs, Misamis Occidental with โ‚ฑ1,220,000 for 4 SLPAs, and Lanao Del Norte with โ‚ฑ880,000 for 3 SLPAs.

SLP aims to empower individuals and communities to establish and maintain sustainable livelihoods, thereby reducing poverty and improving their overall well-being. This grant serves as an investment in human potential. Participants were trained and capacitated through various orientations, technical support, and capability training prior to the release of capital to launch their businesses.

The DSWD-10 SLP will continue to implement comprehensive monitoring initiatives to ensure the sustained growth and success of participating businesses. This approach may include partnership linkages to assess their specific needs and deliver targeted training accordingly, as well as conducting performance evaluations to pinpoint areas that require improvement.

By maintaining consistent oversight, the DSWD-10 SLP aims to address challenges promptly, adapt strategies as needed, and foster an environment conducive to business development. This proactive monitoring not only helps in safeguarding the investments made but also encourages entrepreneurs to innovate, expand, and contribute positively to the local economy, ultimately ensuring that the businesses under the program will flourish in the long term.
