More families may be added to the list of beneficiaries of anti-poverty programs of the government, especially those implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Currently, the DSWD Field Office 10 is prepping up for the conduct of validation for Listahanan 3.

Listahanan 3, or the third household assessment of the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR), which is being run and managed by the DSWD, is a system that generates a list of who and where the poor households are in the Philippines.

This list is not only made available for the consumption of the DSWD-10 as basis in determining potential beneficiaries for its flagship programs, but this shall also be made available and used by local government units, national government agencies, and other social service providers to help them identify potential beneficiaries of their projects and programs, with a Memorandum of Agreement to bind both parties to protect the data privacy of households indicated in the list, and the proper use of the list for their consumption.

Once the household validation is completed, the DSWD-10 will then run the list through scientific means such as proxy means test which will filter those families who are considered as poorest of the poor, basing on numerous variables, from those that are not. The DSWD-10 shall validate 83,496 households in Region 10 and is targeted to finish the validation by December 2020. Xxxcpt
