With two of its residential care facilities garnering Level 2 Accreditation from the Department of Social Welfare and Development Standards Bureau – Central Office, the DSWD Field Office 10 staff are thankful for achieving such certification for the Reception and Study Center for Children (RSCC) and the Home for Girls.

Secretary Corazon “Dinky” Soliman presented the Level 2 Accreditation to the Reception and Study Center  for Children (RSCC) and the Home for Girls for passing the standards in the operation and management of the Regional Office ran institutions. The accreditation was awarded last January 13, 2014 at a simple rights during the Monday Convocation at DSWD, Central Office, Batasang Pambansa, Constitution Hills, Quezon City. Present during the awarding were DSWD Field Office 10 director, Atty. Araceli F. Solamillo, CESO III and Ms. Virginia Mayol-Cardona, SWO IV (RSCC Center Head and Center Monitor for the Home for Girls).

Director Solamillo congratulated everyone behind the success of the accreditation, and the Director was also confident that the Level 2 accreditation would be maintained with confidence, especially of how the Regional staff are performing, and how proficient management staffs are.

DSWD FO X is the only regional office awarded with the Level 2 Accreditation among all the Department-Managed centers all over the country, and is the first ever to be awarded with such accreditation; a feat that the DSWD Field Office 10 staff are very much proud of. Director Solamillo has even challenged the Centers Staff and Management to aim higher and go for a Level 3 accreditation, a challenge the Centers and Institutions gladly accepted. The Director has pledged whatever is needed to accomplish such accreditation in the coming future.

The Reception and Study Center for Children is a child-caring institution that provides services to abandoned, neglected and/or surrendered children 0-6 years of age. The primary aim of the center is to help the child achieve survival, development and rehabilitation while the Home for Girls is a residential facility that provides protection, care, treatment and rehabilitation to abused and exploited girls below 18 years old. The Reception and Study Center for Children (RSCC) and the Home for Girls are located at the DSWD FO 10 compound, Mastersons Avenue, Upper Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City.
