Cagayan de Oro City — Thousands of family foods packs and hundreds of hygiene kits and blankets have been distributed to families affected by floodings and heavy downpour brought about by the Tropical Storm Agaton, now a low pressure area, in Northern Mindanao.

The 372 families in Linamon, Lanao del Norte who fleed from their houses to evacuation centers due to floodings since late last week, received family food packs, hygiene kits and blankets.

Linamon and Kapatagan are among the towns in Lanao del Norte hardly hit by the tropical depression.

Meanwhile, a total of 3,533 family food packs were provided to affected families here.

DSWD Field Office 10 is continuously coordinating with other local government units for possible relief operations in Northern Mindanao.

Lawyer Araceli F. Solamillo, DSWD Field Office 10 Regional Director, has ordered all Social Welfare and Development (SWAD) Team leaders in all five provinces of the region to assist LGU and to assess the impacts of disaster to hardly hit towns.

The Quick Response Team of DSWD Field Office 10 also has rendered 24-hour duty yesterday following the Code Red declaration by the local disaster risk reduction and management council of this city due to intermittent rains.
