In continuation of the implementation of the Unconditional Cash Transfer (UCT) Program, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has released its latest data regarding the payout via top-up crediting of UCT beneficiaries with cash cards.

The UCT is a one-time cash subsidy provided to qualified poor households and individuals to help them cope with the adverse economic impact of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) law.

The DSWD explained that with the ongoing pandemic, distribution of the UCT grants shifted from over the counter payment to cash card mode of payment.

Based on the report from the UCT-National Program Management Office (NPMO), more than P1.65 billion have been distributed to 458,567 UCT-Listahanan beneficiaries from Regions II, VIII, IX, X, and CARAGA through their cash cards.

Likewise, 596,819 UCT-Social Pension beneficiaries from Regions CAR, CARAGA, II, III, IX, and NCR have also received their UCT grants last month via top-up cash card crediting amounting to more than P2.14 billion.

Beneficiaries in the said regions already have their cash cards.

Meanwhile, an additional 300,912 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries with cash cards were able to receive their UCT grants amounting to P1.08 billion. These are on top of 3,923,602 4Ps beneficiaries who earlier claimed their UCT grants last December 2020.

The Department will continue to ensure the provision of social welfare programs to assist vulnerable sectors during this time of the pandemic. ###
