Marawi Clash Incident Briefer

The DSWD Field Office 10 Disaster Operation Center in Iligan City continuously monitors the situation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) coming from Marawi City.

Number of IDP families in Region X has increased from 21,861 to 23,140. There are currently 37 evacuation centers housing 2,237 families. The number of home-based families has remained at 20,903.

In Lanao del Norte, the number of IDP families has increased to 21,245. The number of families inside evacuation centers has also increased to 2,235. The number of home-based families has remained at 19,010 and they are staying with relatives and friends in 21 municipalities and one (1) city, which is Iligan.

In Iligan City, the number of IDP families has increased to 9,244. The number of families inside evacuation centers increased to 811, while the number of home-based families has remained at 8,433.

In Misamis Oriental, the number of IDP families has remained at 1,673. There is only one (1) existing evacuation center, which is in Cagayan de Oro, and is housing 2 families. The number of home-based families has remained at 1,671.

In Bukidnon, the number of IDP families has remained at 222. There is no evacuation center opened in the province. The number of home-based families remained at 222.

DSWD-X Cost of Assistance is now at 33,219,894.00. Local Government Units’ support is still at P1,852,443, while NGOs’ support is still at P15,000.00.

DSWD-X continues to provide transportation allowance to evacuation center-based IDPs who wish to go home to their provinces. DSWD-X is complementing the local government units in conducting the profiling of IDPs.

DSWD-X continues to monitor the needs of the IDPs in evacuation centers. Stress Debriefing and Play Therapy is continuously being conducted by Nazarios Child Development Foundation, Community and Family Services Intervention, Order of the Franciscan Missionary, Philippine National Red Cross, UCCP church workers, World Vision, Adventist Community Church, and the Department of Health.

DSWD-X regularly joins the Regional Coordination Command Center meeting along with the Office of Civil Defense, DSWD-ARMM, DOH and other agencies for regular updating, resolution of issues and point of collaboration pertaining to the disaster operation.
