Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office X will have another wave of validation in preparation for the Unconditional Cash Transfer where the national government gives P200 per month to each family validated in the list of poor households which was generated through Listahanan – the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction managed by the Department.
Nestor B. Ramos, Regional Director of DSWD-X, says that it shall conduct validation of 262,623 families who are not beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and are not beneficiaries of the Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens, but are enlisted in the Listahanan database because there were considered as poor during its enumeration in 2009 in Northern Mindanao.
Ramos says that the DSWD shall pay P2,400 for 2018 to each family validated as poor by the Department. However, he emphasizes that the payout shall only start after the validation has been conducted and finalized this year.
The said cash assistance shall also be given to all Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program beneficiaries, in addition to their cash grants, and beneficiaries of the Social Pension for indigent senior citizens, in addition to their monthly subsidy of P500.
The DSWD shall provide the cash assistance in line with its vision to ensure that all Filipinos are free from hunger, and poverty, and have equal access to opportunities, enabled by a fair, just, and peaceful society. ###
