Thirteen-year-old John Simoun S. Salise, a humble and determined child from Barangay Biga, Lugait, Misamis Oriental, is not just an inspiration to his family but to the entire Northern Mindanao region.

John Simoun Salise’s charming smile lights up the MSU-Integrated Developmental School in Naawan, Misamis Oriental, earning him the friendship and admiration of his peers.

Recently recognized as the 2024 4Ps Exemplary Child, John exemplifies resilience, leadership, and unwavering commitment to his family and community.

John Simoun is the fourth of five children born to Donna and Jessie Salise, a hardworking couple blessed to become Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries in 2023 under Set 12A.

The “Sana All” Family

The Salise Family is affectionately known in their town as the “Sana All Family,” a popular slang expression that conveys a wish for their success and happiness to inspire others.

The family’s close bond and collective achievements have made them role models in their community.

Donna works as a job order employee at Biga Elementary School while supplementing their income as a Tupperware and Personal Collection dealer. Her husband, Jessie, a Bajaj driver, assists with deliveries and supports barangay activities.

Together, they juggle multiple livelihoods to provide for their five children, whose accomplishments speak volumes about their parents’ perseverance and values.

Their eldest, Jessrel, is a fourth-year college student at MSU-Naawan Campus, while Krissia Pearl and Kristel are pursuing higher education. John, a Grade 8 student at MSU-Integrated Developmental School of Naawan, Misamis Oriental, and their youngest, Josiah, a Grade 2 pupil at Biga Elementary School, carry the torch of excellence in academics and extracurricular activities.

A true leader at home

John Simoun exhibits exceptional behavior at home, taking responsibility for household chores such as washing dishes, cleaning, and watering plants.

His actions reflect not just his respect for his parents but also his understanding of the

importance of teamwork within the family.

John embraces these tasks as shared responsibilities, fostering a supportive and nurturing environment.

His actions have influenced his siblings, reinforcing the values of empathy, hard work, and respect the family holds dear.

Facing poverty with resilience

Despite their financial struggles, the Salise Family has consistently prioritized education, believing that poverty should never hinder their dreams.

Donna and Jessie have instilled in their children a strong sense of resilience and determination, which have propelled them forward even in challenging times.
