Being on the last phase of the Second Round household assessment, random re interviews to selected households in the urban areas and cities are being conducted.

This is being done to ensure that the assessments done by the enumerators using tablets instead of the usual Family Assessment Forms (FAF)were done accurately.complete with the essential details in determining whether a certain household can be considered as poor, near poor, or non-poor based on the standard basis.

With the 793,989 targeted households for assessment in Northern Mindanao,it is expected that after validation which will be conducted in October of this year, a database of poor households will be generated.

The database will then serve as the basis in identifying potential beneficiaries of social development programs and services of the Department and its partner Agencies and stakeholders.

The Listahanan or the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) is the data management system of who and where the poor are and is used in identifying the potential beneficiaries of various programs and services of the Department and other partner Agencies and stakeholders, who have engaged with the Department of Social Welfare and Development through a Memorandum of Agreement for the utilization of the Listahanan database.

To date,Phil health, National Nutrition Council, Department of Health, Commission on Higher Education and the Department of Health are some of the National Government Agencies who have engaged and utilized the Listahanan data.

Local Government Units within the region have also been utilizing the Listahanan database in identifying the Listahanan database in identifying the beneficiaries of their locally – initiated programs and services.

The First Round of Assessment was conducted in 2009 where over 300,000 households in the region were identified as poor
