Gipahinumdoman sa Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ang publiko kabahin sa mga kwalipikasyon aron maapil sa Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens Program o SocPen.

Gi-awhag sa Departamento ang publiko nga dili tuohan ang mga social media posts nga nagaingon nga tanang senior citizens, may kaya man o wala, makadawat og pensyon ilalom sa Universal Social Pension bill, nga hangtod karon pending pa sa Kongreso.

“Ulitin po natin na tanging mga senior citizen na mahihirap, may sakit, mahina, o may kapansanan at walang tinatanggap na pension, tulong mula sa kapamilya, o permanenteng pinagkakakitaan para masuportahan ang kanyang pang-araw araw na pangangailangan ang maaaring tumanggap ng buwanang pension sa ilalim ng Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens mula sa DSWD,” saysay ni Assistant Secretary Ada Colico of the DSWD’s Protective Programs.

[Balikon nato nga ang angayan lamang makadawat sa buwanang pensyon ilalom sa Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens gikan sa DSWD, mao ang mga senior citizens nga kabus, masakiton, luya, o adunay kapansanan ug walay ginadawat nga pensyon, tabang gikan sa pamilya, o walay permanente nga panginabuhian aron masuportahan ang ilang pang-adlaw-adlaw nga panginahanglan.]

Ang SocPen usa ka programa ilalom sa Republic Act No. 9994 o ang Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010, diin ang mga indigent o kabus nga senior citizens makadawat og Php500 matag bulan aron makatabang sa ilang pagkaon ug tambal.

Apan pinaagi sa Republic Act No. 11916, nga nailhan usab nga “An Act Increasing the Social Pension of Senior Citizens” ug nahimong balaod kaniadtong Hulyo 2022, ang mga kwalipikadong indigent senior citizens nagsugod na og dawat og Php1,000 matag bulan gikan sa kanhing Php500, sugod Enero 2024. Ang maong kantidad ipang-apod-apod matag bulan, matag duha ka bulan, o matag tulo ka bulan.

Ang balaod nga kasamtangang gipatuman sa DSWD naglangkob sa 4,085,066 ka kwalipikadong indigent senior citizens, ug wala pa kini maglakip sa tanang senior citizens sa nasod, nga gitawag nga “universal coverage.” Sa Region 10, adunay 231,585 ka mga benepisyaryo nga apil sa maong programa.

Gipasabot sa DSWD nga lahi ang SocPen program sa Universal Social Pension Bill. Busa gi-awhag ang publiko nga mosalig lamang sa opisyal nga social media accounts ug websites sa Departamento aron malikayan ang sayop nga impormasyon ug kalibog. ###
