The regional PYAP (Pag –asa Youth Association of the Philippines) officers recently had their third quarter meeting in Northern Mindanao to tackle on issues pertaining to the welfare of the youth sector, and on how to lobby to their respective local government officials to better support the young people in the region.
Mr. Mohaiman Macaumbang from the National Youth Commission also shared the various programs and services being implemented by the Commission for the youth sector. He stressed the important role that the officers play in their respective localities as far as encouraging and motivating the youth is concerned.
The Pag-asa Youth Association of the Phillipines, Inc. or PYAP is a duly constituted barangay based organization of the out-of school-youth between 15-30 years old who are clientele of the DSWD.
The PYAP is organized nationwide and is federated from the Municipal, City/Provincial, Regional and national level.
The PYAP Federation of different levels serves as a strategy that provides forum to discuss youth issues and concerns related to their projects and come up with solutions/recommendations addressed to both the youth and other system involved in program planning and implementation.
The youth ,being one of the most active and influential sectors in the communities also have their share as far as promoting the involvement and participation of the youth is to the localities where they are part of.
It was participated by Youth Federation Presidents and Officers from the five provinces of the region namely, Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Camiguin, and Lanao del Norte.
