The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office X has recognized local government units (LGUs) in Northern Mindanao that have contributed a lot in success to uplifting the nutritional being of the children beneficiaries.

Sheryl Ave, DSWD Field Office X’s Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) Focal Person, disclosed that the criteria for the recognition include: early submission of reports, provision of logistical support, human resource augmentation, and nutritional status improvement, among others.

Here are the awardees:
Bukidnon: Quezon, Maramag, Kadingilan, Kibawe, Dangcagan, Kalilangan, and Valencia City,
Camiguin: Sagay, Catarman


Lanao del Norte: Kapatagan, Kolambugan, Linamon, Bacolod, Sapad, Nunungan, Salvador, Matungao, Pantar, Sultan Naga Dimaporo


Misamis Occidental: Oroquieta City, Lopez Jaena, Panaon, Bonifacio, Clarin, Tudela, Don Victoriano, Tangub City, Sinacaban
Misamis Oriental: Naawan, Talisayan

To address malnutrition and improve the health of young Filipino children, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) continues to implement community-based feeding programs in partnership with local government units (LGUs).

The DSWD promotes and implements the SFP as part of the agencyโ€™s contribution to the governmentโ€™s Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Program and in line with Republic Act No. 11037 or the โ€œMasustansyang Pagkain para sa Batang Pilipino Act.”
