In the peaceful Barangay Tagdo of Mambajao, Camiguin, Lynn and Pablito Magdales, a dedicated couple, have woven an inspiring tale of determination, love, and unwavering support that has transformed the trajectory of their family’s future, thanks to the assistance of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

Born in 1976, Lynn Laway Magdales and her husband Pablito, aged 60, embraced life’s challenges with resilience. 

In a pursuit to provide a brighter future for their seven children, the couple worked tirelessly despite their modest beginnings. 

Lynn spent a decade as a sales lady at Dulfo Dy Store, while Pablito toiled as a construction worker, enduring physically demanding jobs and long hours under challenging conditions.

Their shared vision of a prosperous future for their family fueled their daily grind, anchored in the belief in the transformative power of education. 

Against all odds, they saved every penny possible, understanding that education held the key to opening doors for their children.

Through hard work, perseverance, and the support of the Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program, Lynn and Pablito celebrated the graduation of two of their children from college. 

Carla Jane Magdales, their eldest, earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and is now working with the Department of Trade and Industry in Mambajao. 

Their second child, Claire Magdales, has been a licensed civil engineer at the Mambajao Municipal Planning Office since 2023.

Two more children are pursuing Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degrees, one at UM Davao and the other at Fatima College of Camiguin. 

Another child is studying Automotive at Camiguin Polytechnic State College, while their remaining children are in Grades 7 and 10, with Clouie Jean Magdales excelling academically at Yumbing National High School.

The assistance provided by the 4Ps program played a crucial role in fulfilling their children’s educational requirements, including laptops and other school supplies. 

Lynn and Pablito expressed deep gratitude for the program, which bridged the gap when their earnings fell short of their family’s needs.

As a testament to the Magdales family’s determination and the positive impact of the 4Ps, their children have successfully established a Sari-sari store in Tagdo, Mambajao. 

This achievement led Pablito to transition from his construction job to managing the store full-time. 

Lynn supports her family actively, ensuring the program’s requirements are met and attending Family Development Sessions regularly.

The Magdales family’s story is not just about financial hardship; it’s a narrative of resilience, sacrifice, and the unwavering belief in the power of education. 

Through their sacrifices, Lynn and Pablito have allowed their children to achieve their dreams, setting a powerful example for future generations in their community.
