The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office X (DSWD-10) and the Provincial Government of Bukidnon signed a Memorandum of Agreement on July 6, 2026, at the Capitol Compound in Malaybalay City to strengthen access to medical assistance for indigent patients. The agreement enables qualified clients receiving treatment in eight provincial hospitals across Bukidnon to avail of financial assistance through the DSWD’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program using Guarantee Letters (GLs), allowing medical expenses to be directly covered without requiring immediate out-of-pocket payments. DSWD-10 will assess and validate eligible beneficiaries, while participating hospitals will assign personnel to facilitate billing and ensure the assistance is properly applied to patients’ accounts. The partnership covers provincial hospitals in Malaybalay City, Maramag, San Fernando, Manolo Fortich, Kalilangan, Kibawe, Talakag, and Malitbog. Led by DSWD-10 Regional Director Glofelia J. Uayan and Bukidnon Governor Rogelio Neil P. Roque, together with hospital administrators, the initiative reflects a shared commitment to providing timely, accessible, and compassionate healthcare support to vulnerable Bukidnon residents.
