Naawan, Misamis Oriental – The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office X (DSWD FO X) launches its 12th satellite office in Naawan, Misamis Oriental, aimed at facilitating clients’ applications for the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.

“This satellite office gives us the message nga na kumpleto na for this province ang establishment sa atong satellite offices… this means nga mapaduol na nato atong social protection programs and services,” says DSWD FO X Regional Director Ramel F. Jamen.

(This satellite office sends us the message that the establishment of our satellite offices is now complete for this province… this means that we can now bring our social protection programs and services closer to the people.)

The newly established satellite office will also serve the seven local government units: Lugait, Manticao, Initao, Libertad, Gitagum, Laguindingan, and Alubijid.

Director Jamen signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Governor Peter M. Unabia, Representative Yevgeny Vincente B. Emano, and Mayor Dennis L. Roa, reaffirming its dedication to bring various services and interventions closer to those in need, now accessible through the newly inaugurated satellite office.

Officials and representatives from various LGUs, NGAs, and other offices were present to witness the signing of the MOA during the Naawan Municipal Town Hall Turnover Ceremony.

DSWD FO X has identified Naawan as one of the three strategically located municipalities for its new satellite office.

Earlier this year, the proposal submitted to Mayor Roa was swiftly approved, exceeding the initial expectations.

The new satellite office situated in the new Municipal Town Hall at Brgy. Linangkayan, Naawan, Misamis Oriental, will cater to walk-in clients residing in the second district of Misamis Oriental, making it the province’s second office.

This outcome stems from the collaborative meetings between DSWD FO X and LGU Naawan, benefiting not only Naawan’s residents but also its neighboring areas.

The DSWD Naawan Satellite Office is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., accepting applications for medical assistance covering hospitalization expenses, cost of medicines, and other medical treatment or procedures and funeral assistance.

AICS Program serves as a stop-gap measure to support the recovery of individuals and families suffering from unexpected life events or crises.
