Manticao, Misamis Oriental — To boost local enterprise development, the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Field Office 10 Sustainable Livelihood Program (DSWD-10 SLP) has capacitated 23 members of the newly established SLP Association in Manticao through a comprehensive training on cost analysis and financial management on March 20, 2025.
Held during the first month of the association’s operations, the training covered key areas such as budgeting, cost control, and pricing strategies—equipping participants with the financial tools essential for managing and sustaining a small-scale food business. The training was carried out online with the support and supervision of DSWD-SLP staff.
Focused on food processing, the Manticao SLP Association was recently formed as part of the government’s initiative to promote sustainable income opportunities and local entrepreneurship. To strengthen the foundation of the budding enterprise, the SLP partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to deliver financial skills training to its members.
Beyond the training, the SLP continues to provide support through access to resources, mentorship, and market linkages. This integrated approach ensures that members are not only financially literate but also equipped to adapt to consumer demands and business challenges.
