The Risk Resiliency Program (RRP) Implementers of the DSWD Field Office X have participated in the Strategic Planning Workshop for the Local Adaptation to Water Access and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished (LAWA and BINHI) Project conducted just recently in Koronadal City, South Cotabato.
Project LAWA at BINHI, a project under the RRP through Cash-for-Work and Cash-for-Training, is a proactive intervention and sustainable solution to address food insecurity and water scarcity due to the effects of climate change.
The project aims to combat hunger, alleviate poverty, and lessen economic vulnerability by ensuring food security and water sufficiency in the community.
Formulating a project work plan that aligns with the DSWD Strategic Plan for CY 2024–2028, understanding the implementation process, strategies, and institutional arrangements, and sharing good practices are part of the workshop.
The Special Assistant of the Secretary, Dr. Maria Isabel B. Lanada, together with the Disaster Response Management Bureau (DRMB) of the DSWD-Central Office, initiated the program in collaboration with Regional Director Loreto Jr. V. Cabaya of DSWD Field Office XII.
The Department of Agriculture (DA), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), National Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture Program (NUPAP), United Nations World Food Programme (UN-WFP), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and partner agencies have shown strong support for the program.
