A total of 1,397 Sustainable Livelihood Program participants from Cagayan de Oro City and the municipalities of Misamis Oriental received P15,000 each to support their small enterprises. The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 10 (DSWD-10) distributed a total of P21,195,000 seed capital from April 22-23 and April 29-30, 2025.
The fund distribution included: ₱1,140,000 for 76 participants in Balingasag; ₱1,020,000 for 68 participants in Binuangan; ₱1,065,000 for 71 participants in Kinoguitan; ₱1,215,000 for 81 participants in Lagonglong; ₱720,000 for 48 participants in Salay; ₱1,155,000 for 77 participants in Sugbongcogon; ₱750,000 for 50 participants in Balingasag; ₱2,580,000 for 172 participants in Gingoog; ₱750,000 for 50 participants in Magsaysay; ₱750,000 for 50 participants in Medina; ₱690,000 for 46 participants in Talisayan; and ₱9,360,000 for 624 participants in Cagayan de Oro City.
This grant serves as an investment in human potential. Participants were trained and capacitated through various orientations, technical support, and capability training prior to the release of capital to launch their businesses.
The DSWD-10 SLP will continue to implement comprehensive monitoring initiatives to ensure the sustained growth and success of participating businesses. This approach may include partnership linkages to assess their specific needs and deliver targeted training accordingly, as well as conducting performance evaluations to pinpoint areas that require improvement.
By maintaining consistent oversight, the DSWD-10 SLP aims to address challenges promptly, adapt strategies as needed, and foster an environment conducive to business development. This proactive monitoring not only helps in safeguarding the investments made but also encourages entrepreneurs to innovate, expand, and contribute positively to the local economy, ultimately ensuring that the businesses under the program will flourish in the long term.
