Cagayan de Oro City | The Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) launched its 3rd-year Caravan and One-Stop Shop on September 4, 2024.
The 2nd day of the caravan was focused on knowledge sharing and training given by different agencies to selected Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs).
Roy Arthur Alamban, the Insurance Underwriter Designate in The Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation, discussed what financial assistance the farmer could avail of as crops may be subjected to withering due to disaster-stricken events. They’ve also discussed claim procedures for filing claims and its associated rules.
Greenly L. Bacutan, Senior Trade Industry Development Specialist of the Department of Trade and Industry, discussed marketing strategies like the importance of packaging and how it appeals to audiences. They’ve also discussed how important your brand is and the relationship of your brand to your target audience.
Other noteworthy trainings are Food Safety by the Department of Science and Technology, Soil Media Formulation by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, and Value Adding Session on Fish Ball by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.
Other than the training, the caravan also offers free medical consultation from the doctors of Northern Mindanao Medical Center, agricultural consultation from the Department of Agriculture (DA), family planning consultation from the Commission on Population and Development, and introduction of their program and free online agricultural courses from the DA-Agricultural Training Institute.
The event also gave opportunities to Community-Based Organizations and SLPAs to showcase and sell their products. Products range from vegetables, rice, milk, processed goods, delicacies, and assorted handicrafts.
