In 2024, the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 10 (DSWD-10) – Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) made significant strides by assisting 14,738 poor households, surpassing its target by 126.65% of the planned 11,636 households. The program successfully allocated and disbursed a total of ₱252,695,000, achieving a 100% financial grant accomplishment under 2024 Current GAA.

DSWD-10’s analysis reveals that the participants are primarily engage in five leading diverse enterprises including retail and wholesale; agriculture, forestry, and fishing; food services activities; manufacturing; and transportation services. In the previous year, an impressive 100% of Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPAs) have received CSO Accreditation.

One of the participants in SLP, Ms. Mildred Elago, stated that “Pinaagi sa tabang sa SLP natagaan ug hinayhinay nga realisasyon ang among mga damgo. Ang ilang gipaabot sa among panginabuhian maoy bugtong tulay nga milambo ang panginabuhian sa tagsa tagsa. Pagka karon hinayhinay na nga nakab-ot namu among mga damgo”. It is evident that the program significantly benefited our participants by enhancing their socio-economic status.

Participant demographics reveal that 11,305 (76.7%) of participants are female, while 3,433 (23.3%) are male. Among them, 8,131 (55.2%) are beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), while 6,607 (44.8%) are non-4Ps beneficiaries.

DSWD-10’s SLP also supported vulnerable sectors, including 112 persons with disabilities, 553 solo parents, 1,454 indigenous people, 1,406 senior citizens, and 196 youth.

Overall, the accomplishments of the Sustainable Livelihood Program in 2024 lay a strong foundation for continued progress, fostering self-sufficiency and improving the quality of life for participants. As the program advances, it is well-positioned to adapt to emerging challenges, ensuring a lasting impact on local communities.
