A two-day training on Child Growth Standard cum Menu Planning was conducted in three batches for the whole month of October.

The training which was spearheaded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development was participated in by  Federated Day Care Workers President from the  provinces of Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, Camiguin, Bukidnon and Lanao del Norte .

The month –long  training  was aimed to hone their skills & knowledge and  in the delivery of quality service in the implementation of the 5th cycle Supplementary Feeding Program particularly ,in their respective  communities.

Participants were trained to  measure a Child’s Growth using the World Health Organization Child Growth Standards as well as be able to determine  the different growth indicators .

The participants’ skills  in menu planning using indigenous food were also capacitated during the training.

The workshops  introduced concepts on Measuring a Child’s Growth, Interpreting Growth Indicators and Counselling on Growth and Feeding which were clearly discussed and explained by the Resource Person, Ms. Susan B. Batutay of the World Food Programme.
